Toe freedom!
Absolutely loved training with Jim and Codie this weekend and learning all their knowledge and wisdom on healthy, happy feet! 🦶 Had so much fun exploring how to play with them too which I thoroughly enjoyed!!
Already playing with all our new found knowledge and tools back home and can't wait to spread the TFL love far and wide to help with happier feet around the world 🌎🥰🤍
I’ve just completed The Foot Collective Guide training in Edinburgh and I’m leaving with happy feet and lots of new ideas! 🦶❤️
We worked a lot on foot exercises and balance and had great fun, while Jim and Codie demonstrated skills that made me question whether they are actually human! 😂
Best of all, I’m bringing home fresh inspiration for both my yoga classes and my patients as a physio. 🧘♀️🦶✨ One of the most important lessons: having fun during exercise makes a huge difference in improving compliance! 😊
Wicked course! Knew I loved the method and the people, but honestly had no idea what I was about to experience.
Finished up and love that I’ve got this string to my bow now 🏹
Codie and Jim are epic teachers, people and movers - so I feel privileged to have worked with them, but also to get their perspective on various aspects of the training.
Really excited to start guiding now!
TFC SoleMate
Only had SoleMate for a couple of weeks but it has already become a key part of my exercise routine. The tutorials are very good, well paced and informative.
At age 79 I have begun finding that there are occasions when my balance is not as good as I would like it to be. Having decided to address this issue I went ahead and ordered a Soulmate Kit. Something I had been considering for a while but now it was crunch time.
It is a beautifully engineered piece of equipment. Although I have not long been using it, I can already feel the difference in muscles around my ankles. At present I am getting used to finding my balance in the split stance. Once I fully have it down, and get more confident, I move on to the training programme.
The Soulmate is a worthwhile investment and you are never too old to learn, particularly when it’s health related. John
I was somewhat aware of barefoot shoes and importance of the health of our feet but the foot collective workshop opened up the subject for me and showed how much further it can go.
It was great to learn about how it can impact our sensory awareness/movement. While also getting shown practical tools and ways to improve ourselves. Getting hand on with the equipment and even though I didn’t have a solemate, I ended up finding mine.
Pun intended.
It’s left me intrigued to explore this more especially as I’m working towards PT qualifications.
Thanks
Excellent program. Progressively upgraded, with evidence based research underpinning functional skill development. Empowering me with skills and techniques to self manage foot/leg health ongoing.
I’m really enjoying using the Sole Mate. I noticed that my big toe had very limited movement on its own, despite moving easily when I manipulated it with my hands. Exploring this led me to discover The Foot Collective, and I’m beginning to wonder whether some of my foot mechanics might help explain the hip and back pain I’ve experienced when running.
I’ve only been using the Sole Mate and doing the exercises for a few weeks, so it’s still early days, but I’m already noticing that I have much more ability to control and use my big toe, along with a general increase in foot strength.
I’m finding the Sole Mate very easy to use, and the hacky sack makes the exercises fun rather than feeling like a chore. It’s surprisingly easy to start with but becomes challenging quite quickly, which I really enjoy. I’m looking forward to continuing to work on my foot strength and control and seeing where it takes me.
Fiddly to put on but feels great to stretch the toes out. I think toes get a raw deal so it’s good to give them the TLC they need and deserve.
The guide course was really interesting. There’s lots to learn and absorb, and of course try!
Don’t worry about how good you are, the TFC team will meet you where you are. However, try to have done some practice before the course, as you will be able to get even more out of the course. It’s worth mentioning that you shouldn’t expect to leave the course as a TFC Guide or with a certificate. You will need to complete a post course physical test which demonstrates your balance through an array of movement challenges.
Is the course worth it? 100%
The 12-week program was excellent and I really enjoyed it. My feet are stronger, my balance is better, and I have learned so much about my foot health. I’m loving all my new barefoot shoes and even have my 83-years-young mother wearing and loving them. Thank you, The Foot Collective, you are all amazing. Keep up the great work!
I attended the TFC Guide course last weekend and highly recommend it! I learnt so many new skills, drills and ways at looking at movement. Jim and Codie were fantastic instructors, incredibly knowledgeable, supportive and approachable!
What I loved most was the atmosphere within the group! There was a great sense of community, with plenty of laughs, some healthy competition, and everyone encouraging each other. It genuinely felt like the course catered for all levels!
I felt really supported by Jim and Codie throughout the weekend, and came away really excited to continue my progress.
I definitely recommend the TFC Guide course to anyone interested in feet, movement, balance, and the way they move!
Markus.
